Maasai Treks
Other Nature Treks: Chyulu Hills | The Aberdares | Ngorongoro Highland Trek |

Historically a feared warlike community, the Maasai once occupied a large tract of land in Kenya and the northern parts of Tanzania. Today they can be still be found still living in their traditional cultural set ups in the southern districts of Kenya stretching from the Maasai Mara to Chyulu Hills in Kenya and from the Serengeti to the Maasai plains in Tanzania.

The Maasai are happy to share the water and grazing grounds with wildlife. Even in their ritual lion hunting, initiated warriors live in harmony with the wildlife. They are the backbone of community based wildlife conservation efforts due to their lifestyles which are integrated with nature unlike the other infringing tribes who are mainly agriculturist.

Our safaris take you to the Maasai home lands of the Loita and Purko Maasai clans in the Maasai Mara, Loita Hills and Nguruman forest. The homeland of the Ilkisongo and Kaputei clans stretch from Magadi to the Chyulu Hills in the south east which we also cover in our itineraries.
