This little known forest is one of Kenya's best kept secrets. The pocket of virgin
tropical rainforest could well be one of the remnants of the vast forest that
once stretched across the girth of Africa from the Congo Basin. It is home to
a huge variety of animals, birds and reptiles. Here you will find black and white
colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkey, potto (a large nocturnal sloth like creature), bush
baby, tree pangolin and leopard. There are over 320 species of birds.
The best way to appreciate the forest is to walk, and there are several trail
systems radiating from forest stations. The trails are sign posted and well marked.
Trails cover distances of 1 to 7 kilometer.
