The Maasai Mara is Kenya’s most popular game park.. Virtually every person
visiting the country desires to stop over the Mara, an extension of the evocative
Serengeti plains. This park has wildlife abound. Whereever you go in the Mara,
the one certain thing you will notice is an astonishing number of animals often
on one place. Of the big cats lions are most easily spotted while cheetah and
leopards need more time. Elephants, buffaloes, hippos and plains game exists
in large numbers. Rhinos do exist in the park but are rarely seen.
Every Year between the month of July and October wildebeests and zebras stage
the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth. They come in their millions from the
Serengeti plains across the international border and over the Mara River on
their ancient migration routes in search for pastures. All along they are followed
by the predators and scavengers. At the crossing points on the Mara River, the
crocodiles have an annual feast on the crossing herds.
