The Ngorongoro Conservation Area which was declared a world Heritage site in 1978
is truly a Natural Wonder of the World. This is the wildlife photographers paradise
as you can take shots of all the 'Big five ' (Elephant, Lion, Buffalo, Rhino and
Leopard) throughout the year. There also are hundreds of bird species.
Ngorongoro is the largest intact crater in the world covering some 265 sq. km.
From the rim to the crater floor is an altitudinal difference of 600 meters. Views
from the crater rim are incredible, while a game drive on the crater floor takes
you close to an abundance of all East African wildlife species. This is a sight
one is sure to always remember. The salt lake on the crater floor increases and
decreases with the rains and is a habitat of a large variety of water birds.
